Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
The Harovas family is deeply saddened by the unexpected passing of Dr. Antoine C Harovas, beloved husband of Euterpe Harovas, devoted father of Anna and Michael Xylas, Lea and John Bendo, and Stephanie and Bryan Ferro, cherished grandfather of Alexander, Evan, Alexa, Nicholas, Andrew, and Sophia, and dedicated brother of Arthur and Betty Harovas. Born in Hartford, Connecticut, Dr. Harovas, at 82 years old, passed away peacefully with his family and friends by his side in New York City on September 24, 2015. He worked tirelessly as a dedicated cardiologist, where most of his professional life including his training was spent at Roosevelt Hospital. He was equally devoted to the Greek Orthodox Church and its ministries. He was a man of uncommon integrity, generosity, and compassion who instilled strong values in all of his family members. The viewing will be at The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity at 319 East 74th Street, New York, NY on September 28th from 6:00 to 9:00pm. Funeral services will be at The Cathedral of the Holy Trinity on September 29th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Antoine C Harovas to the Saint Nicholas National Shrine at the World Trade Center, c/o the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, 8 East 79th Street, New York, NY 10075.
