Social media isn't just for the young and a 91-year-old professor, Charles Krohn, from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis, showed he could link the past to today, going remote to teach Homer's The Odyssey from his home in Houston. 

His students were agog over his effort, said Metro.UK in a piece noting his daughter, Julia Krohn Mechling, snapped a picture of him sitting at his computer and posted it on Facebook. 

“Here he is … embracing virtual teaching like a boss,” she said. She said that in the image, Krohn is teaching the ancient Greek classic The Odyssey by Homer and said that to be in his class would be “a true gift,” to learn from a scholar of ancient Greece and its writers. He’s been teaching it for decades, and yet he has the passion and excitement for the text as though it’s the first time,” Mechling said. 

“One of the most incredible things were all the comments from past students of his from 40 or even 50 years ago saying how he has changed their lives and maybe brought literature in their lives.”
