Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ASTORIA – Senator Michael Gianaris launched his annual summer reading program, aiming to bring more children to libraries and encourage reading between school years. Senator Gianaris hosts this program annually.
“Students benefit from continuing to read while school is out during the summer,” said Senate Deputy Leader Michael Gianaris. “My summer reading challenge aims to ignite a love of learning by keeping children engaged in reading during the summer months. I encourage families and children to participate and read together during this time of year.”
To participate, parents, guardians, and educators can go to www.gianaris.nysenate.gov, click on the Summer Reading Program banner, and fill in the relevant information for their child. The deadline for submissions is September 1, 2021. All participating students will receive a certificate signed by Senator Gianaris.
