Foreign Nationals Caught Using Fake Documents to Travel Abroad

HERAKLION, Crete – Four foreign nationals were arrested at the airports of Heraklion and Chania, Crete, when they attempted to travel abroad using fake documents, Greek authorities announced on Wednesday.

 

A 23-year-old woman from Afghanistan, a 23-year-old man from Syria and a 47-year-old man from Iraq used fake Italian, Syrian and French travel documents, respectively, in order to fly from Heraklion to France and Switzerland.

 

At Chania airport, a 25-year-old woman from Afghanistan presented fake French documents to travel to Germany.

 

The fake documents were confiscated and the holders were arrested and sent before a public prosecutor.
