Parish Council of St. Demetrios in Ft. Lauderdale Takes Oath

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – The community of St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Ft. Lauderdale announced that Fr. Peter Zougras performed the swearing in of the Parish Council on February 28.

One newly-elected Parish Council member, Anna Nicholas, joined the 12 members who remained on the board from 2020. The officers are President Dr. George Georgakakis, Vice President Harry Tangalakis, Treasurer Garry Paxinos, Assistant Treasurer Bill Ypsilantis, Secretary Karyl Zitis, and Assistant Secretary Marion Koliniatis. The remaining board members are Larry Kirifides, Peter Kokkinos, Mona Monezis Kapakos, Philip Vias, Mark Zaden, and Kathy Ziegler.

“Their dedication to our community, especially during this past year has been outstanding,” the community said in their statement via email.
