NISYROS – The Municipality of Nisyros, as part of the promotion of the island for 2023, presents a new song and music video ‘Nisyros’ (‘Nostalgo ti Nisyro’ – ‘I Miss Nisyros’) by singer/songwriter Kleoniki Demiri highlighting the charms of the island in the Aegean Sea.

The unique song/music video created by Demiri features the natural, rugged beauty of Nisyros, the impressive volcano, the beaches, the distinct picturesque villages and its traditions captured in a song dedicated to the enchanting place.

Nisyros, the island of the volcano, love and myth, invites every traveler to visit her, to get to know her.

The rock that the Olympian god Poseidon threw and flattened the giant Polybotis is waiting for visitors to walk on it and feel the heartbeat of the giant nesting in his den, to hear his sigh, to be enveloped in the smoke that emerges from his nostrils, to live your legend in the wild rocky and green nature, to discover the unique and natural beauty of the caldera of the volcano, which remains awake and causes admiration and awe, for those who experience the adventure of walking inside the crater.

On this rock of 42 square kilometers, after centuries of struggles and toil, the wealth of culture, natural, archaeological, geological and religious, has sprouted.

Nisyros invites the citizen of the world, the traveler, the lover of beauty, to one of the most suitable places in the world to admire, study, and learn about the most active processes of our planet, with such unique vegetation that hosts a very rich fauna, with monuments from the prehistoric period and with infinite myths, a paradise for every visitor who respects and loves nature, who tries to learn from the eternal wisdom of its action.

In the song, the music, lyrics, and interpretation are by Kleoniki Demiri. In the video, the images come through the directorial gaze of Fotis Fotopoulos.
