Mitsotakis on Bicentennial: Greece Reflects, and Moves on

ATHENS — Greece is a modern European country, with power and prestige globally, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said in a message on the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution (1821) on Thursday.

Two hundred years later, he said, the revolution of a national resurrection should become the revolution of a national resurrection, "with Greece at the forefront of the times."

"Today, the nation celebrates. Two hundred years after the historic Revolution of 1821, it reflects and moves on," Mitsotakis said. "It is inspired by its ancestors and firmly holds the baton of progress, which moves from generation to generation in our country."
