McCarthy Withdraws Speakership Bid

House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has withdrawn his bid to become Speaker of the House to replace John Boehner, Politico reported, and now the election for a new Speaker will be postponed.
McCarthy faced backlash by his own Republicans as well as my Democrats, not least of which the Clinton Campaign, for remarks that he made, implying that the House Benghazi hearings against the former secretary of state were politically motivated.
Other candidates for the speakership include Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) and Daniel Webster (R-FL).
