Maloney Announces Mikey Cole as Virtual Guest to Presidential Address

NEW YORK – On April 28, Congresswoman Carolyn B. Maloney (NY-12) announced Mikey Cole, owner of Mikey Likes It Ice Cream, as her virtual guest to President Biden’s Joint Address to Congress this evening. Mikey Cole is the owner of Mikey Likes It Ice Cream on Avenue B in Manhattan. Throughout the COVID-19 crisis, Mikey has served the community day in and day out by leading food drives and checking up on residents.

“Mikey Cole is a perfect example of the everyday heroes who stepped up for their communities during the pandemic,” said Rep. Maloney. “During the COVID19 crisis, he was out there for our East Village community, handing out meals and checking up on residents every day. His entrepreneurship and steadfast commitment to serve make him the quintessential New Yorker. Americans like Mikey are the true heroes of this recovery, and I am delighted to have him as my virtual guest to the Presidential Address.”

“The first 100 days of the Biden Administration have been a game changer for small businesses like mine. We had been waiting for help whereas the big companies got support,” said Mikey Cole, owner of Mikey Likes It Ice Cream who plans to watch the speech from the East Village in New York City. “The support for small businesses has been incredible. It was hard to stay positive during COVID-19, and we led with our hearts. With the aid for small businesses in the American Rescue Plan, I can also continue to serve the community with a smile. Thank you to Congresswoman Maloney for having me as her virtual guest, and I thank her for her leadership fighting for ALL New Yorkers in Washington.”
