BRUSSELS — Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias met with the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg, on Tuesday in Brussels.

"The NATO 2030 reflection process, recent developments in the Eastern Mediterranean and the upcoming meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers were on the agenda," according to a foreign ministry's post on Twitter.

Yesterday, the EU Foreign Affairs council "discussed all aspects of the relations with Turkey," Josep Borrell, High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, said on Monday, and will focus on promoting dialog and cooperation.

In a statement following the meeting, Borrell said the ministers had "discussed all aspects of the relations with Turkey as identified in the December Council Conclusions, including sanctions, and reaffirmed the importance of engaging with Turkey in order to advance in and consolidate paths of dialogue and cooperation."

He also termed the restart of Greek-Turkish exploratory talks "a significant step", adding that restarting talks on the Cyprus issue would be "of equal significance."

Dendias met with several officials during the Foreign Affairs Council meeting of EU foreign ministers in Brussels on Monday.

With EU Commissioner for Neighborhood & Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi he discussed "regional developments in the Western Balkans & Eastern Mediterranean, boosting EU cooperation to tackle Covid-19's impact," the ministry said in a tweet in English.

At his meeting with EU Commission Executive Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, Dendias talked about "EU-Turkey relations, with particular focus on Customs Union discussed during the meeting," the ministry said in another posting, while with EU Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas the minister discussed "EU-Turkey relations and migration issues."

Earlier today, Dendias and his Belgian counterpart Sophie Wilmes met and discussed ways to further advance bilateral cooperation.

"During their meeting on Tuesday in Brussels, Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias and Sophie Wilmes focused on ways to further advance bilateral cooperation while they discussed current regional developments as well as EU agenda issues," the foreign ministry posted on Tuesday on Twitter.

Dendias, met also with the vice-president of the European People's Party (EPP) parliamentary group and head of ruling New Democracy MEPs in the European Parliament, Vangelis Meimarakis.

The focus of the meeting was on national issues, Dendias posted on Twitter.
