Flight from Belfast Inaugurates Tourism Season for Corfu

CORFU – The start of the tourism season for the island of Corfu was inaugurated on Sunday 26 March with an Easy Jet flight from Belfast that landed at Ioannis Kapodistrias airport at about 11:30. Nine flights will follow starting from 15:00 from the UK, Italy, Poland, Slovakia, Spain and Belgium.

A total of 60 flights from Europe are expected to land at Corfu airport until April 1.

The vice president of the General Pan-Hellenic Federation of Tourism Enterprises Vassilis Kaloudis said to Athens-Macedonian News Agency, that the season starts very dynamically and expressed his optimism that the increase will reach 10 percent compared with 2022.

However, Kaloudis pointed out the absence of the Russian market which was of high budget even in the low season due to the religious tourism.
