Dendias Meets With Visiting US State Department Asst Secretary Cooper

ATHENS — Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias met with US State Department Assistant Secretary for Political-Military Affairs R. Clarke Cooper in Athens on Thursday.

They discussed the cooperation of Greece with the US towards promoting regional security and stability, the ministry said on Twitter.

US Ambassador Geoffrey Pyatt said in a tweet following the meeting, "Great to join Assistant Secretary R. Clarke Cooper for his meeting with Minister Nikos Dendias to discuss our countries' shared strategic goals. Together, we’re building on the successful visit of Secretary Pompeo and advancing our defense relationship for peace and security in the East Med & Balkan regions."

Cooper is visiting Athens October 14-18.
