Dendias in New York for High-Level Week of the 76th United Nations General Assembly

NEW YORK — Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias will travel to New York in order to participate in the High-Level Week of the 76th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

From Monday, September 20 to Wednesday, September 22, he will have a series of bilateral and multilateral contacts, and from Thursday, September 23 he will also participate in the meetings of the Prime Minister.

Dendias' schedule has been formulated so far, as follows:

Monday, September 20:

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of The Gambia, Mamadou Tangara

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, Rodolfo Solano Quirós

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Gabon, Pacôme Moubelet Boubeya

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides

• Informal Meeting of EU Foreign Ministers

Tuesday, September 21:

• Participation in the Opening of the General Debate of the 76th UN General Assembly: Speech by the UN Secretary-General, the President of the UNGA and the Presidents of Brazil and the United States

• Address at the presentation of the National Strategic Openness Plan, via videoconference

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Algeria, Ramtane Lamamra

• Participation in a high-level event on Afghanistan and in particular on the protection of women and girls at the initiative of Austria, with the participation of the Chancellor of Austria, the Prime Minister of Denmark and the Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan, Qatar, Tajikistan and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al-Saud

Wednesday, September 22:

• Participation in the 10th Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies, at the initiative of Romania

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan, Ruslan Kazakbaev

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Rwanda, Vincent Biruta

• Meeting with the Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology of United Arab Emirates, Sultan Al Jaber

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Panama, Erika Mouynes

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia, Ararat Mirzoyan

Thursday, September 23:

• Participation in a Ministerial Meeting of the Alliance for Multilateralism, at the initiative of France and Germany, via videoconference

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry

• Trilateral meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, Sameh Shoukry

Friday, September 24:

• Participation in the plenary session of the 76th UN General Assembly: Speech by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, N. Anastasiadis

• Quadrilateral meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Israel and Cyprus and US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs, Victoria Nuland

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ghana Shirley Ayorkor Botchwey

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kenya, Raychelle Omamo

• Meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan, Mariam Alsadig Al Sedeeg Al Mahadi
