Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – Health Minister Thanos Plevris has ordered a preliminary investigation into the death of a 49-year-old man, who died shortly after he was turned away by the “Agios Andreas” hospital in Patras.
According to the family, the 49-year-old went to the hospital on Wednesday night complaining of severe back pain but was advised to instead visit the Patras university hospital, which was on emergency duty that night, in order to get the necessary tests done. The man died soon afterwards, however.
An emergency meeting is taking place at the Agios Andreas hospital with all those that were on duty that night at the hospital.
