Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS — All primary schools and kindergartens in Greece are closed from Monday, November 16 until November 27.
The pupils will continue their lessons via distance learning and educational television.
From Monday at 9:00 – first day of implementation of the measures – ERT2 TV will broadcast lessons for primary school students. Distance learning will start on Wednesday, after the school holiday of November 17, and is mandatory.
Education Minister Niki Kerameus said that the measures are "of a precautionary nature" as the epidemiological burden in schools is very low but they target a reduction in the movements abroad of adults.
She said that the recent developments with respect to the pandemic in Greece "are such as to make these measures necessary in order to jointly and with determination address the spread of the virus in Greece".
