Greek American Nassau County DA Madeline Singas Shares Update

January 1, 2021

NEW YORK – On December 30, Nassau County District Attorney Madeline Singas shared an update on her and her team’s efforts to keep the people of Nassau County safe. Singas also appealed for support in her re-election campaign.

Her full statement follows:

“This year, we have faced unprecedented challenges. My office is working hard to keep our community safe, and I couldn’t be more proud of the work that our team has done this year. The U.S. News & World Report recently named Nassau County the #1 Safest Community in America, and City & State New York noted the District Attorney’s significant role in that incredible achievement for our county.

I am seeking your support so we can build on our success and Nassau County can continue to be the safest community in America. Can you chip in today to support my re-election for District Attorney?

My team of prosecutors, investigators, and support staff work hard every day to keep the people of Nassau County safe. Our partnerships with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies yield results for the community, taking on violent crime, drug abuse, corruption, and cybercrime. We are also active and engaged participants in the fight against racism and bias, and we’re working every day to examine our policies and procedures to ensure equal justice for all.

These accomplishments don't happen overnight. It takes hard work and our ability to do that work relies on your support. Can you donate today to help us continue this important work?

2020 has seen incredible challenges in our work as we embraced the letter and spirit of major criminal justice reforms, brought our work from paper files to an all-digital system, and continued to work through a global pandemic without missing a beat. We’ve found new ways to collaborate and communicate, and even prosecuted New York’s first virtual trial right here in Nassau County! I am excited for what lies ahead in 2021 and confident that the Nassau County District Attorney’s office is prepared to lead.

I am so grateful for your continued support. Together, we will keep Nassau County safe.”
