Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ATHENS – Deputy Foreign Minister Konstantinos Vlassis met on Wednesday with the Ambassador of Israel to Greece Yossi Amrani.
The Israeli envoy briefed Vlassis on the situation in Israel following the recent elections and reaffirmed the excellent level of bilateral relations with Greece, which extend to many fields besides energy.
He also referred to the great momentum of Greek-Israeli bilateral collaboration and underlined the important role of the diaspora for the promotion of national issues, a foreign ministry announcement said.
On his part, Vlassis referred to the incidents in Evros and the eastern Aegean islands, noting Greece’s readiness to defend its borders.
The deputy minister underlined that Greece and Israel are pillars of stability, security and peace in the Southeastern Mediterranean and made a special reference ot the EastMed natural gas pipeline.
Finally, he referred to the successful cooperation between Greece, Israel and Cyprus in diaspora issues and the prospects of deepening this further.
