Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
TROY, NY – Continuing the tradition of giving back, Troy, NY AHEPA Chapter 306 members and their families spent the afternoon of December 14 volunteering at the Regional Food Bank of Northeastern New York. They packed more than 4,500 pounds of frozen food for distribution to charitable organizations and persons in need. Chapter 306 also donated $500 to the Regional Food Bank. According to Food Bank officials, this donation will provide for 2,000 meals.
AHEPA Chapter 306 also awarded academic scholarships to three deserving students during a ceremony held on December 15. The students are Aaron McCarthy attending Alfred State College, Melina Vasil attending Siena College, and Talia Viscusi attending Marist College. The scholarship recipients are all currently college sophomores and are part of the St. Basil (Troy, NY) Church community. The Order of AHEPA congratulates all the winners, and wishes them success in achieving their goals.
