Popular Greek singer Dimitris Mitropanos died on Tuesday at the age of 64. Mitropanos was rushed to an Athens hospital early Tuesday morning, where he died of acute pulmonary edema.
Popular Greek singer Dimitris Mitropanos died on Tuesday at the age of 64. Mitropanos was rushed to an Athens hospital early Tuesday morning, where he died of acute pulmonary edema.
Born in Trikala in April 1948, Mitropanos began his musical career in 1964.
He worked with some of Greece's most renowned composers, including Mikis Theodorakis, Stavros Xarhakos, Manos Hadjidakis, Marios Tokas and Thanos Mikroutsikos, and was a virtuoso of Greek 'laika' popular music for over four decades.
