Gus Lucas, AHEPA Constantine Cassis Chapter No.170 Past President, Was 99

HEMPSTEAD, NY – Gus Lucas AHEPA Constantine Cassis Chapter No.170 Past President passed away at the age of 99. The sad news was announced on January 10 by AHEPA Constantine Cassis Chapter No.170 current President Anastasi Stampolis in a statement via email. He said: “Our entire AHEPA Family of Hempstead wishes to express our deepest sympathies and condolences to the family of our Past President and Brother Gus Lucas who has fallen asleep in our Lord.”

“Beloved Brother Gus Lucas has served our brotherhood for many years as an Ahepan and a Past President of our AHEPA 170 Chapter in 2006 and 2007,” Stampolis continued. “Past President Gus Lucas had served in the United States Army and retired at the rank of Corporal.”

While serving as AHEPA 170 President, Lucas, alongside the Daughters of Penelope Pasithea Chapter No.141 chaired a committee and raised $17,000 which was donated to the Autism Foundation, according to the Chapter’s statement.

The visitation will be held Thursday, January 11, 4-8 PM, at the Fredrick J. Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, 20 Hicksville Road in Bethpage, NY.

Members of the AHEPA Constantine Cassis Chapter No.170 will be in attendance at 6 PM.

The funeral service will be held at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Paul, 110 Cathedral Avenue in Hempstead, Long Island, NY, on Friday January 12, 11 AM, with the burial to follow at Pinelawn Memorial Park, Pinelawn Road in Pinelawn, NY.
