Zythognosia, a Microbrewers Expo for Beer Lovers, to Βe Held at Zappeion

October 4, 2017

ATHENS – Beer lovers will have the opportunity to taste beers from Greece and abroad at the 4th Athens Craft Beer Expo ‘Zythognosia’ that will be held at the Zappeion Hall in Athens on October 14 and 15.

A large number of microbrewers will participate in Zythognosia, some of them presenting their products at an expo for the first time.

Beers from Crete, Evia, Chios, Rhodes, Santorini, the Peloponnese, Cephalonia, Mykonos, Macedonia and mainland Greece (Sterea Ellada), will be presented side-by-side with unique label beer from countries where microbrewery flourishes, as in the United States, Britain and Italy.

All types of beer will be represented at the expo, which will also include original beer tasting sessions – for example, combining ‘extreme’ tastes like dark beer aged in a barrel that used to hold red wine.

Microbrewer Steve Gammage, owner of the Bronckhorster Brewing Company, one of the rising microbreweries of Netherlands, will be present to exchange views and forge new contacts with Greek brewers.
The exhibition will be open from 12:00 to 21:00 on both days.

As a sommelier, Evan Turner knows Greek wine and he wants everyone else to know about it too, and he's using his key position at Krasi (Greek word for wine) Meze and Wine in Boston to make sure.
