Yum, Four Greek Delicacies Ranked in World’s Top 50 Tasty List

It’s been a good year for Greek food, which was ranked second in the world behind only Italy – but first on renowned chef Gordon Ramsay’s thinking – and now four Greek treats were among the top 50 in the world.

Both lists came from the site TasteAtlas and found that besides Greece the top dishes were dominated by those from Japan, Brazil, Italy, and Turkey – providing plenty of fodder for food fights on the Internet and social media.

The Greek winners were Paidakia at 15th, Gyros at 31st, Giouvetsi at 36th and the Bakaliaros cod preparation at 41st. Just missing, coming in 51st in the world was Kokoretsi, grilled animal internal organs.

The top 5 delicacies were Japanese curry, Brazilian thick beef cuts Picanha, Portuguese steamed clams, and two Chinese dumplings, Tangbao .
