Yia Mas Upcoming Fall Events and Pop-Up September 25-26

September 25, 2020

NEW YORK – As fall officially began this week in the Northern Hemisphere, Kristina Headrick, founder of Yia Mas, shared some wonderful options to welcome the season.

She said via email, “From where I'm writing, we've officially entered fall, having passed the autumn equinox and feeling a veritable chill in the air. The change is welcome, especially after what felt like something of a stagnant summer for so many.

“As a wellness practitioner, I spend a lot of time thinking up refreshing, effective ways to serve our community. A few weeks ago on Instagram, we asked our followers what they most need help with. A few things came up repeatedly, and oh how they resonated: consistency, anxiety, getting back on the workout wagon, missing ‘normalcy’ and community, more anxiety, boredom with your wellness routine, and did we mention anxiety?”

Headrick noted that she spent time digesting the input and crafted the latest offerings based on that input. She said, “Naturally, we could never cover it all at once, nor would we try, but we came up with two exciting new offerings that will be ongoing to help you find consistency, community, and live with more joy.”

Yia Mas will be popping up at Calissa Hamptons, 1020 Montauk Highway in Water Mill, NY, on Friday, September 25 and Saturday, September 26, 6-10 PM, with The Greek Source and KLEOS Mastiha for an outdoor, distanced shopping experience. Greek Dance Club, a place for inclusive, non-judgmental movement and a celebration of Hellenic dance traditions, begins on October 1, led by Headrick. All levels welcome, all you need to bring is a willingness to move and learn. The classes take place twice a month and participants can join a la carte or attend both. All classes take place virtually on Zoom. On October 29, guest teachers Stacie Peroulas and Stavros Karagiorgis will lead the class which offers a bit of history and seminar-style chatting before the dancing. Yia Mas presents the first in the new XALARA series of workshops on October 14 designed to help you navigate the seasonal transition, manage anxiety, and consciously let go of what’s no longer serving you. The new workshop series is designed to help you live with greater ease through science-backed practices, philosophy, and myth. The first workshop explores easing anxiety and letting go through the lens of the Persephone myth and working with the season.
