ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A Rochester woman was charged with second-degree murder for allegedly killing her 3-month-old baby girl.
Mabel Enid Rosado-Delgado, 38, was charged Wednesday after having brought her daughter Karen Victoria Castro-Rosado to a hospital on Sunday morning, the Democrat and Chronicle reported.
Rochester Police Capt. Frank Umbrino said the infant had suffered severe trauma and appeared to be deceased when she arrived at the hospital. He did not say when the injuries may have occurred.
The Monroe County Medical Examiner's Office on Monday conducted an autopsy and found that the child died by homicide due to blunt force trauma, Umbrino said.
Rosado-Delgado is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday morning, he said.
Karen is the youngest person to die by homicide in Rochester this year, the newspaper reported.
