The Athens – Abu Dhabi connection flies three times a week, on Monday, Wednesday (from February 17) and Friday, while Thessaloniki – Abu Dhabi is every Monday and Tuesday. "The new routes between Athens, Thessaloniki and Abu Dhabi add 600 thousand additional jobs to the market every year and underline the company's long-term commitment to offer Greek passengers even more affordable and ecological travel proposals," the company said in a statement.

Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, a consortium of ADQ and Wizz Air Holdings plc, initially announced an airline network that includes Athens, Thessaloniki, Alexandria, Kutaisi, Larnaca, Odessa and Yerevan, with even more destinations to be added in the coming months.

ATHENS – Even without the trademark Turkaegean – owned by Turkey – Greece is still luring tourists to the Southern Aegean that had one more than a million arrivals – but the Acropolis in the Greek capital remains a favorite too.
