WEST AUSTIN, TX – Yamas Greek Kitchen + Bar, a West Austin restaurant, is set to reopen Tuesday night after recent fire according to KVUE-TV.
The popular establishment, located in the Highland Park West neighborhood of West Austin, made a Facebook post Friday night saying it had “experienced a small outdoor electrical fire.”
“As a result, the spot remained closed through the weekend. It initially planned to welcome customers again Monday night, but the reopening has now been pushed to Tuesday as the restaurant awaits a part they need. Yamas said no one was injured during the fire and the building itself was not severely damaged,” the KVUE report noted.
The article noted that “last summer, Chris and Roxie Nikolakos brought a niche dining experience to the Austin area by introducing a combination of modern and historic Greek meal options at their restaurant. Yamas offers a wide variety of brunch and dinner options, with everything from the Skopelitiki Cheese Pie – filled with phyllo dough, honey, sesame and thyme – to the Keftedakia, or Greek meatballs, served with feta cheese, herbs and tomato sauce.”
Yamas Greek Kitchen + Bar opens at 4 PM on weekdays and 10 AM Saturdays and Sundays. Reservations are available online.
