Greek-American James A. Koshivos, 21, Killed after Car Plunged into Ocean
FALMOUTH, MA – The police in Falmouth have identified the victim in an accident involving a car plunging into the ocean on February 20, NBC10 Boston reported.
LARISSA – The Fire Brigade and Civil Protection have taken a full account of existing conditions following the destruction of the storm ‘Daniel’ in all regions, and are mostly intervening in pumping out water, helping in the transport of food, water, medicine, and generally supporting affected residents of destroyed areas, Fire Brigade spokersperson Ioannis Artopios said on Monday.
Speaking at the Coordinating Operations Center in Larissa, central Greece, Artopios also noted that they are using drones to monitor the level of water at Lake Karla and all related regions. Rubber dinghies of both the Fire Brigade and Civil Protection and tracked vehicles of the Disaster Management Special Unit are on standby in the region, in case the water level rose further.
Artopios mentioned that of the firefighters in the region, several had also lost homes and assets along with residents and business owners in Thessaly, but will continue to stand by citizens for assistance whenever necessary.
