Voridis Sees Exceptional Opportunities in the Post-COVID Era in the Balkans

September 24, 2021

ATHENS — "Exceptional opportunities are being created in the post-covid era in the Balkans," Interior Minister Makis Voridis said on Friday during an online address at the 3rd Balkan Forum held at the conference centre "I. Vellidis" at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).

"Trade between businesses and citizens is shaping a reality in which states and public administrations are called upon to respond," he added.

"The opportunities," he said, "have to do with tackling the climate crisis, the energy transition, the coordination of public administrations, the digitization of services provided to businesses and citizens, the green economy."

Voridis stressed the need for common steps taken by the Balkan countries, a stable relationship between the states, in order to provide harmonized regulatory and legislative solutions for the benefit of businesses and citizens.
