Visiting Fletcher Students Meet with FM Dendias, Chief of Defense Floros

ATHENS – A delegation of students from Tufts University’s graduate school, the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, paid a visit on Tuesday to two ministries in Athens.

The students met with Foreign Affairs Minister Nikos Dendias, who said in a tweet he presented the priorities of Greek foreign policy, commenting on the meeting at the ministry as being an “interesting exchange of views on current international affairs and diplomacy.”

In a related tweet, he added, “There is no exaggeration to say that our relations with the USA are at an all-time high. I had the pleasure and the honour, as Minister, to sign two amendments to our Defense Agreement (at the meeting with graduate students of Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy).”

The Tufts students also paid a visit to the National Defense Ministry and met with the chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff, General Konstantinos Floros, who discussed the complex security region in the Mediterranean, and underlined the importance of strategic defense agreements Greece has signed with the United States and France.

Besides American and Greek nationals, the visiting group from Fletcher also includes nationals of India, Kuwait, Japan, and Spain.
