Virginia Beach Philoptochos Helps Ukraine

September 7, 2022

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va – The Philoptochos members of St. Nicholas Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia wanted to assist Archbishop Elpidophoros’ fundraising efforts for our sisters and brothers in Ukraine. They planned a “Spring Sale,” asking parishioners to donate housewares, electronics, books, artwork, furniture, children’s toys, jewelry, and clothes. Philoptochos members donated their time and energy to separate, organize, set up, and sell donated items. Under the guidance and leadership of Peggy Hardee, the President of Philoptochos 1089 and organizers, Elaine Galanides and Corinne Wood, the sale was a huge success. Working together to fulfill God’s will enabled them to contribute $6000 to Archbishop Elpidophoros’ Ukrainian Relief Fund.
