Violence Reported at Moria Hotspot Late Monday

MYTILENE – Violent incidents were reported late on Monday at the Moria hotspot on Lesvos between groups of Iraqis living in the camp.

The camp’s night infirmary was destroyed when a group of individuals sought shelter inside but were attacked.

Tensions in the hotspot are running high due to the continuous and increasing arrivals of migrants and refugees on Lesvos, stretching facilities at the hotspot that has a capacity for 3,000 people and is currently hosting approximately 6,300.
