US Diplomat D. Burger Meets with Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Gov. to Discuss US Investment

THESSALONIKI — The Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy of the United States of America in Athens, David Burger, met on Tuesday with Eastern Macedonia and Thrace governor Christos Metios, as part of his visit to the region, together with the new US Consul-General in Thessaloniki, Elizabeth Lee.

Following the recent visit of Assistant Secretary Bureau of Energy Resources Frank Fannon to Komotini and Kavala, Burger had a meeting with Metios to discuss "deepening US investment and engagement in this beautiful and storied region of Greece," the US Embassy posted on Twitter.

In another tweet, Burger said: "I am very pleased to meet with Mayor Yiannis Garanis to discuss how we can work together to promote and develop vibrant Komotini, a model of peaceful coexistence and diversity."
