UN, US Working to Restart Talks

The UN and the U.S. are trying to figure out ways to restart the UN-led Cyprus talks. The is what Secretary of State John Kerry told Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades at the World Economic Forum, in Davos, on January 23.

Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides said in a written statement that the late afternoon meeting lasted about 45 minutes.

“The two men discussed matters of mutual interest as well as recent developments in the Cyprus problem with emphasis on Turkish violations of Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), Christodoulides points out,” according to CNA.

NICOSIA - Six years after Cyprus approved cremation, the country's first crematorium is due to start use by 2024 after applications for its construction were approved by the environment department.
