UN Rep To Try to Jumpstart Talks

Espen Barth Eide, the UN Secretary General`s Special Adviser on Cyprus, will visit Cyprus next week to try to get UN talks back on track. They cam e to a stop in September following the Turkish provocations in Cyprus` Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).

According to CNA sources, “Eide will be in Cyprus this Monday while he will meet with the leaders of the two communities, namely President of the Republic Nicos Anastasiades and Turkish Cypriot Leader Dervis Eroglu on November 26. The UN top official will also hold meetings with the negotiators of both sides, Andreas Mavroyiannis and Ergun Olgun.”
