U.S. President May Stop at US Base in Souda for Refuelling this Weekend

ATHENS – The U.S. naval base in Souda, Crete was making preparations on Friday for a possible visit by U.S. President Donald Trump this weekend, on his way to Singapore.

Trump will be flying to Singapore to meet North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on Tuesday morning and the base is preparing in case the presidential aircraft needs to make a stop for refuelling.

According to Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA) sources at the US Embassy in Athens, however, the U.S. president’s programme has not yet been finalised.
