Two More Arrested for the Clashes in Nea Smyrni

ATHENS — Τwo more individuals, aged 22 and 23 years old, respectively, were arrested on Thursday morning in connection with the clashes in Nea Smyrni and the beating of a policeman on Tuesday night.

According to police sources, they are both Greek nationals, while the younger of the two is a known member of the anti-establishment scene and had been detained for the recent attack on the office of Alternate Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis.

Another 16 people were arrested on Wednesday for the incidents in Nea Smyrni, while police are still seeking other individuals in connection with the incidents on Tuesday night, during which several police officers were injured.
