Two Italians Found Injured in Remote Area of Santorini

SANTORINI – A man and a woman in their 60s, both Italians, were located injured by the fire brigade on Friday in a remote and inaccessible spot on the island of Santorini after calling the 112 European emergency number.

The pair was located in an area known as Profitis Ilias by a team of eight fire fighters and volunteers from a mountain climbing team and transferred to a safe location using specialist equipment, where they were picked up by a helicopter from the Search and Rescue Coordination Centre.
