Two Foreign Nationals Die in Presumed Attempt to Swim to Greece from Turkey

October 11, 2022

KOS – Two foreign nationals, both aged approximately 30 years old, were found dead on Tuesday morning in the sea region of Lambi near the island of Kos.

Authorities presume that they died in an attempt to swim to a Greek island from the Turkish coast.

In the morning, the port authority of Kos was informed by a Hellenic Navy vessel that a man’s body was in the specific area. A coast guard vessel that investigated the area also found the body of a second man.

The two men, who were both wearing swimming gear, were collected by a coast guard vessel and transferred to Kos hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
