Two Artists, One Greek and One Turkish, Collaborate to Help Earthquake Victims

HANNOVER, GERMANY – Two young internationally recognized artists from two different cultures came together to help the earthquake victims in Samos, Greece and Izmir, Turkey.

Mikail Akar, age 8, the youngest abstract artist in the world, of Turkish descent, and the talented Pop Art artist Niko Nikolaides, 29, of Greek descent, created a painting together, titled SAMIR, a portmanteau word combining Samos and Izmir. The painting will be auctioned off with proceeds donated to the victims of the recent earthquake.

The two artists wanted to show the world that despite the differences between Turkey and Greece, there can be solidarity.
