Greek-American James A. Koshivos, 21, Killed after Car Plunged into Ocean
FALMOUTH, MA – The police in Falmouth have identified the victim in an accident involving a car plunging into the ocean on February 20, NBC10 Boston reported.
ATHENS — As part of its online festivities on Orthodox Easter Sunday, Vamvakou Revival will host an event featuring rebetiko and folk music, including works by legendary songwriter Vassilis Tsitsanis, performed by the musical group Grammes.
Vassilis Tsitsanis was one of the most important figures in Greek folk and rebetiko music. A lyricist and composer but also a singer, Tsitsanis left his mark on the history of folk and rebetiko music, taking rebetiko from the margins and to the mainstream while also introducing new singers who would go on to define an entire era with their voices. He wrote, composed, and sang songs that united the people of Greece and expressed the feelings of the moment.
Vamvakou Revival and Grammes will bring some of his most notable hits to our screens and our speakers in a one-of-a-kind tribute event.
Orthodox Easter Sunday, May 2, 2021, at 20.00 (EET)
The event will be streamed at VamvakouRevival.org
The event is part of the Vamvakou Revival initiative, which is implemented with encouragement and grant support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
