Tsipras Meets with Greek Lawyers

ATHENS — Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday had the opportunity to listen to the concerns of lawyers regarding justice in the country, "as the government has failed to assume the basic and absolutely essential protection measures against the coronavirus for those working in the justice sector and has delayed in the necessary programming of their vaccination, despite the fact that they are on the frontline of one of the essential functions of the state," a party announcement said.

The lawyers' representatives strongly repeated that "the government has left thousands of their colleagues without economic support, leading them to poverty as they can't exercise their profession".

On his part, Tsipras underlined that he is looking forward to the further strengthening of communication between the main opposition party and lawyers so that all these problems can be addressed and highlighted.
