Tsipras: Hospitals Are Collapsing Under COVID-19 Pressure

ATHENS — SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Alexis Tsipras referred to "dramatic situation" in the country's hospitals and especially in Attica in his intervention in Parliament on Wednesday.

"The situtation is out of control, and a year after the start of the pandemic we are at its worst phase," Tsipras said at the opening of his speech. He also said that medical staff are reaching the point when they are going to face the "huge moral dilemma» of choosing who to save.

He accused the government of not "being aware of what it is doing" and acting "in a state of panic."

"The crucial issue is that hospitals are not at the brink of collapse, they are already collapsing," he asserted.
