ATHENS — Μain opposition SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras on Thursday welcomed the Court of Appeals' decision on the criminal organisation Golden Dawn, saying it was "historic for Greece and Europe" and "a victory for Democracy and of the rule of law."
Tsipras underlined that this vindication was not the end but an "incentive for a new start" and to "dismantle all the things that give rise to fascism" and an opportunity for a "major counter-attack by the democratic world and its ideas".
In a post on Facebook, he said that "October 22, 2020 is the day that the nazi storm troopers are being led behind bars and the Greek people are once again be proud."
