Toronto DOP Supports the Greek Orthodox Social Services

TORONTO – The Toronto Daughters of Penelope (DOP) hosted another successful virtual bingo night via Zoom on December 19. With the continued support from the previous bingo nights, the chapter decided to host a bingo night to support the Greek Orthodox Social Services of Toronto. The Chapter noted via email that “we continued with the energy left from the last event all thanks to our amazing bingo caller, Gloria Heropoulos.”

“Like our previous bingo nights, there were three games played, all with different patterns,” the Chapter statement continued. “The first game was one line in any way, the second was any two lines, and the last game was a ‘coverall.’ The first and second prizes of $25 one lucky player Maids of Athena (MOA) District 23 Treasurer Christina Heropoulos won and donated her winnings back to the charity and matched them with a total donation of $100. Our last winner was District 23 Governor Sister Angela Mouriopoulos who also donated her winnings back to the charity.”

“Our newly elected treasurer, Jane Conte, B.A., LL.B. and one of our largest supporters donated $750 along with our Grand Governor Zone V and Liaison to Districts 23, 24 and 26 Nicki Douklias donated $50,” the Chapter said. “We were honored to have DOP Past District 23 Governor Dr. Xanthe Vafopoulou, DOP District 23 Governor Angela Mouriopoulos, AHEPA District 6 Lt. Governor Chris Pappis, and MOA District 23 Treasurer Christina Heropoulos all in attendance.”

“The last few years have been incredibly difficult for every community, and we are grateful to be able to help within our Greek Orthodox Social Services. We are incredibly grateful to have the continued support from our members in the DOP and AHEPA. Without their support we would not have the virtual turnout that we do,” the Chapter concluded.
