ATHENS – The condition of a 39-year-old volunteer who was bitten by a viper is still “serious but under control,” doctors reported on Sunday. She remains sedated and on life support at an ICU in Thessaloniki’s Papanikolaou General Hospital.
She had been called into a middle-high school on Friday to capture the snake spotted by a teacher and went into anaphylactic shock immediately after the bite, while the poison reportedly attacked her central nervous system, forcing first-response paramedics to intubate her while she was still in the ambulance.
