The wedding of Eleni Kalmoukos and Andrew Gitchel

ARLINGTON, MA – Eleni Kalmoukos, beloved daughter of Angeliki and TNH Religion Editor Theodore Kalmoukos, was married to Andrew Gitchel beloved son of Jerry and Cathy. The ceremony took place at St. Athanasius the Great Greek Orthodox Church in Arlington, MA officiated by His Eminence Metropolitan Evangelos of New Jersey, assisted by Fr. Nicholas Kastanas, presiding priest of St. Athanasius and Deacon Philotheos Tomczewski.

Sponsors were TNH Publisher-Editor Antonis H. Diamataris from New York, and Themis Karpouzis from Ashland, MA. Metropolitan Evangelos and both sponsors have known Eleni since she was an infant.

A reception and dinner followed at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Cambridge, situated on the Charles River. Many friends, classmates, and professors from Wheaton College, Suffolk Law School, Yale, and Harvard Universities attended. Eleni is an attorney in Boston and Andrew is Director of the Technical Department of Arts at Harvard.

Among those present were Eleni’s beloved professor and mentor Ilene Seidman, currently Dean at Suffolk Law School with her husband, Larry, a Harvard professor. Ilene Seidman was professor of law at Harvard when First Lady Michelle Obama attended.

Present also were Consul General of Greece Iphigeneia Kanara, Executive Director of Leadership 100 Paulette Poulos, Dr. Ahmed and Patricia Mohiuddin, Dr. Stella Kourebana with husband Alexander Mitsialis both Harvard professors, and New York businessman Mike Angeliades with his wife, Libby.

Prof. Panos Liaropoulos of Boston’s Berklee College of Music was in charge of the orchestra and music and the DJ was Kostas Blathras.
