About the United Hellenic Voters of America
Established in 1974, the United Hellenic Voters of America (UHVA) is a non-partisan, grassroots political organization serving the Greek-American community. The UHVA is dedicated to addressing issues that are vital to Greek-Americans by providing a voice for the Hellenic community at the voting polls. Local elections matter! Focusing primarily on local and state elections the UHVA provides the bridge between the community and local candidates who would otherwise be unknown to the voters. Local elections garner very little publicity marking these candidates as just a name on a ballot. The UHVA meets and interviews these candidates who wish to forge a relationship with the Greek-American community endorsing candidates they feel will benefit them. The UHVA annual event brings together political officials and candidates from both sides of the aisle in a vibrant and welcoming environment. It is the only event of its kind.
Partial proceeds from the 50th Anniversary UHVA Awards Gala benefit the Dr. Dimitrios Kyriazopoulos Scholarship Fund presented at the PanHellenic Scholarship Foundation Gala each year.
