Meropi Kyriacou Honored as TNH Educator of the Year
NEW YORK – Meropi Kyriacou, the new Principal of The Cathedral School in Manhattan, was honored as The National Herald’s Educator of the Year.
ASTORIA –The annual St. Demetrios Elementary School Dance Festival was heldon June 21, atSt. Catherine and St. George Churchwhich is part of the St. Demetrios community in Astoria.
The event took place in the parking lotof St. Catherine and St. George Church with a large number of parents and grandparents in attendance. Some chose to watch the performances from the church’s iconic ramp which gave a bird’s eye view of the dancing.
Also present were the Deanof St. Demetrios Cathedral in Astoria, Archimandrite Nektarios Papazafiropoulos, the Chairman of the School Board Nick Andriotis, and St Demetrios Parish Council President Van Christakos.
