ATHENS — The electronic platform through which Greek voters abroad will be registered in the special electoral lists, in order to vote in the Greek elections from their place of permanent residence, will be launched in November, Interior Minister Takis Theodorikakos said on Thursday during an interview with the Greek programme of Australia's national radio network, SBS.
On the occasion of the recent enactment of law 4735/2020, which concerns, among other things, amendments to the Greek citizenship code, Theodorikakos made it clear that the law does not introduce any changes regarding the children of expatriates. All that is needed for them to register and have Greek citizenship is for their parents to declare the birth of their children at the Special Registry Office in order for them to be given Greek citizenship, the minister clarified.
