The Helen Hayes Theater Lighting Ceremony

February 9, 2018

NEW YORK – On Monday, February 5, the Helen Hayes Theater celebrated its reopening with a lighting ceremony, attended by representatives of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). The theater will be the Second Stage Theater’s new home on Broadway.

The SNF supported the ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) accessibility upgrades made to the theater. The grant was a part of a larger renovation effort, by architect and theatrical designer David Rockwell, for the Second Stage Theater’s first permanent home.

The theater is scheduled to open to the public in spring 2018, aiming to become one of the most accessible spaces on Broadway.
